Our Beginnings
Townsend Appraisals was founded in 1992 by Bob Townsend, initially concentrating on providing appraisals for lending institutions for home loans. At the request of local condominium managers and building owners, he expanded the business to include insurance valuations and before long that became the company’s primary focus. Rick Logan came on board in 1996 and together they grew the business into the leading company of its kind in Southwest Florida.

After returning from military service, Rick attended college in Southern California using the GI Bill. He has been a resident and licensed appraiser in Florida since 1996 and specializes in complex commercial properties including high-rise buildings, country clubs and large office and retail properties.

Alex, originally from Windsor, Ontario and a Naples resident since 2010, joined the team at Townsend Appraisals in 2015. He has experience in all commercial property types and has collaborated on projects ranging from Collier to Manatee County.
Alex earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate degrees while he was pursuing a career in health sciences from Logan University in Chesterfield, MO. He held licenses in both the United States and Canada while in private practice.

Wendy brings over 30 years of professional experience in human resources, accounting, and office management, as well as qualifications in office systems evaluation and program implementation. She is a vital member of the Townsend team and crucial to effective communication with our clients and the timely delivery of our appraisals.

SUE SATOW

Sue earned her degree at Missouri State University and went on to complete her internship in Florida. She joined our company in 2017 after spending nearly 20 years with Collier County Government. Her role with us is customer service, preparing contract proposals, finalizing contracts, and assisting with the appraisal updates program.

APPRAISER QUALIFICATIONS

All appraisers with Townsend Appraisals are licensed by the state of Florida. Because we are licensed, we are under the jurisdiction of the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Florida’s Real Estate Appraisal Board. Licensing requires us to adhere to stringent guidelines and our appraisals must be complete and meet the standards promulgated by the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice. What this means to our clients is that we must have the education, experience, and appropriate license to ensure our value opinions are correct and dependable.
